  2. The volunteer schedule changes every week in terms of door-knocking, literature drops, direct mail, etc. Please do not hesitate to call.

Voting

Register to Vote  (click to expand)

  • Mail or drop-off your completed form at least 10 days before the election to:

  • Within 2 weeks, you should receive a voter registration card that will tell you where you need to go vote on Election Day. Call them at (515) 286-3247 if you do not receive your registration card.

Absentee Voting

  • The ballot will be mailed to you 40 days before the election.

Election Day Voting

  • If you are unable to register to vote ahead of time, you can register and vote on Election Day. To do so, go to the polling place for the address where you are living on Election Day. You will need to show proper identification to prove your identity and current residence.

College Students

  • College students CAN vote in Des Moines as long as you register here. Just follow the registration requirements above.

    * If you are either a resident of another state and are attending college in Des Moines, or you are an Iowa resident of another county and are attending college in Des Moines, you can vote in Des Moines.
